According to a new study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, fast food in America contains much more salt than its overseas versions in Europe and Australia.

The McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets in the United States have more than twice as much salt as their sister nuggets in the United Kingdom. That’s 1.6 grams of salt for every 100 grams of American nugget, compared to 0.6 grams in the U.K.

The recommended daily amount of salt is 2300 milligrams, but the study even found some salads that contained as much as 7 grams of salt.
